Tracy's jaunt through writing

Hello everyone,

I am 39 years old and will turn the big four o in June, and I am not sure if I am ready or not but I guess I really do not have a choice right?! This is my fourth semester with Kaplan and I am loving it so far.
I am in the medical office management course which really excites me. I have had two back surgeries so I needed to find a different course through life.
I look forward to learning more about writing and how to improve myself as well as have some fun along the way!

Unit 10

Hello Everyone,

Advise that I would give a person writing a scientific paper would be first pick a subject that you have some interest in, this way the research will be more enjoyable, second, time management make sure you are doing research early enough and have enough research to make an amazing paper, and third, work on parts of your paper, such as the introduction, conclusion, and make sure your paper is following your thesis, if not you may need to change your thesis some.

I strengthened the way I thought about writing for one, I never enjoyed writing, and after this class I have found that I enjoyed writing, and will continue to write after this class. I have also improved the research process by using the outline it organize my thoughts and information.

The area that I could use improvement in is some of the other writing styles and finding which ones I could use to improve my writing.

I have enjoyed this class and writing in a blog is new to me and I found to be very enjoyable as well.

Unit 9

Hello all,

How I feel now that my paper is almost finished is a combination of all three, accomplished in the fact that I researched a topic that was very interesting to me which made the process enjoyable, nervous in the fact that I hope I did enough research and constructed a paper that is both enjoyable to read and informative to the reader, and tired from writing two papers and trying to study along the way for the big test in Anatomy & Physiology II.

I was a person who did not think I was a writer, or even a person who would enjoy writing, and I have to say that I have been enjoying the process and learning new techniques along the way.I really enjoy free writing, in the fact that I can just write down what I think or feel and come back later and clean it up afterwards.

The other topics I would like to research would be diseases of the body, infertility, and the advances in autism hopefully.

Unit 8 blog

Hello Everyone,

I have never had a blog or even visited one for that matter until this class, however I have to say that I have enjoyed writing in my blog for this class and I hope to keep up writing in my blog after this class is over, it kind of reminds me when we used to write in diaries back in the day when they were popular.

Writing has been an issue for me as I never really thought of myself as a good writer and never really gave it much thought, I have now come to realize that writing takes work and to keep my mind open to new possibilities that may come up in the future. Like all things that are worth having you need to work to keep up the process and to not be afraid of failure as that makes what you want worth having.

As for comments and lack of comments I have had only a few and I figure that like me most of us are so busy that we do what we need to do to finish our homework on time and to use our time wisely, so I understand the lack of comments as I have only commented to a few others as well.

Unit 7 blog

Hi everyone,

I personally like peer reviews. I feel that it is always beneficial to have someone else read your paper and see if there are areas that need tweaking or if something just does not fit right in the paper. A second pair of eyes can really help in the area of run on sentences, which I have trouble with some times, grammar, and APA format, which I didn't realize had to be in alphabetical order.

My ah ha moment came in doing my research, I didn't realize that there were so many different types of autism, and the fact that autism affects so many children and it knows no boundaries.
The shocking thing was that autism affects more boys than girls 5 to 1.The other intriguing thing I had found was that parents of autistic children talk about this window where if you get your child in for a diagnosis and therapy you may be able to help with the range of autism your child will suffer from, and I plan to research this window theory more.

I look forward to more research on this topic, and I hope to have a personal story to share through a child and parents account of this disorder and the journey through their eyes.
